Both Year 4 classes at Michael Faraday School have many different learning activities already planned for the new spring term ahead. The children have been preparing for their forthcoming trip to the British Museum. This has been organised as part of our class topic of looking at the continent of Africa.
The pupils will be attending a workshop at the British Museum that will focus on contemporary Africa. The aim is to understand how our perceptions of the continent are not always the same as the reality of everyday life for many people living in Africa.
We are also combining the trip with a visit to the Alice in Wonderland exhibition that is currently on display at the British Museum.
Other work for the start of the new term has involved the pupils making some New Year resolutions. These have been formed around what we would like to achieve as Michael Faraday pupils, and how we want to help each other in class.
Our PE learning will be looking at different forms of dancing. An early session saw the pupils attempting some traditional Indian dancing. Part of this learning is to look for similarities and differences in the many styles of world dance that we will be learning.
Finally the pupils are all very excited about the regular Friday after-school Zumba sessions that Year 4 have been invited to take part in this term.
