The Year 4 pupils at Michael Faraday School have been working hard on solving some complex multiplication sums during recent maths lessons. The current focus is on the 7 and 9 times tables.
Different word problems have been set for the pupils to answer. The first task is to work out what sum needs to be solved in order to answer the question. A number of methods have been used by the pupils. These include the number grid method, partitioning or a number line.
Elsewhere in Year 4 and the children have started a major piece of research looking at Roman Britain. We have been using reference books and online searches to find out who the Romans were, where they came from and why they invaded Britain.
