The Year 3 pupils at Michael Faraday School have just started a major science topic looking at plant growth. Each pupil has completed a worksheet exploring the various stages of this process.
Questions have been answered addressing what conditions plants need to grow, how we can protect plants from any damage, as well as identifying plant parts such as the roots, stem and flowers. This work will then develop to look at plant reproduction and dispersal.
A large part of this learning will be of a practical nature. The children have all planted their own tomato plants on the Year 3 balcony. Each pupil is expected to care for their plant, and then hopefully be able to return home with a harvest later on in the summer term.
