Both Reception classes recently had a brilliant trip to the South Bank along the River Thames. This was organised as part of our class topic of learning about different places around the world.
A good place to start was to learn about London and all about where we live. The children were able to see the London Eye, as well as look at Westminster and Big Ben.
Back in the classroom and the trip has inspired the children to create some artwork based on our trip. Landscape pictures of the London skyline have been produced, using newspaper as a silhouette shape. The London Eye and Big Ben both feature in these pictures.
Another task has involved the children using magnetic strip to create a replica of the Big Ben Tower. We made sure that our replica matches the original as closely as possible.
