The Reception children have returned after the half term break keen to learn more about our new teddy bear friend Elisa. We are expecting her to soon depart on a world tour. One of the destinations will be Rio for the Summer Olympics. The Reception children have been learning more about Brazil ahead of Elisa’s trip.
Each class member has also completed a short piece of writing ahead of their transition to Year 1 in September. The teaching staff have been helping the children to remember to use finger spaces in-between each word. We have also produced some sentence posters to display in our classroom.
Maths work in Reception has been based around the Hundred Decker Bus. This involves counting skills, as well as the children learning how to write number sentences.
Finally it is worth mentioning the spontaneous Reception Talent Show contest! The children were keen to make the most of the fine weather outside our classroom. A performance stage was set up, with no shortage of volunteers to impress with their dancing skills!
