The Nursery children had a wonderful time preparing for the Faraday Family Festival. We invited parents and carers of the children into our school on two separate afternoons towards the end of the summer term to share in the many Nursery achievements since September.
Plenty of preparation went into the festival. The Nursery children have been busy designing and then making the banners that decorated our outdoor space. The catering was also provided by the children. Tasty fruit kebab sticks were prepared, as well as ginger beer that had a glorious lime taste.
Some of the children were able to dress up for the festival, wearing the necklaces that they have been making. Face painting was also popular.
The children also performed some of the songs that we have been learning over the past couple of weeks. Other music came from Phoebe in Year 4 who demonstrated her trumpet skills. Tessa’s Year 4 drummers also made an appearance at the festival by adding some rhythm for the afternoon.
We are hopeful of staging similar events in the Michael Faraday Nursery when the new school term starts in September. The teaching staff are particularly keen for parents to come into our school and celebrate our close community with one another.
We would like to thank all of the parents and carers who were able to support our Faraday Family Festival.
Finally we would like to remind parents and carers about 1stPlace – an outstanding local children and parents’ centre, created to serve the needs of local parents with children under five. There is a full programme of events on offer this summer.
