Year 5 Practice Presentation Skills with Animal Research

Year 5 have been continuing with their animal life cycle topic. This work has included an investigation into the evolution of some animal species. The pupils have been learning how to classify different groups in the animal kingdom.

We have seen how two of the main animal groups are vertebrates an invertebrates. Animals that belong in the vertebrate group contain a spine to help keep them upright. Invertebrates have no backbone.

This work has also crossed over into our art sessions. One of the challenges for this term in Year 5 is to understand how we can present our artwork to help put across a clear, organised message.

The pupils have been learning how they can improve their presentation skills by using clear titles, sub-titles and illustrations. Each class member has produced a diagram explaining a little more about the animal groups. These are displayed using a powerful piece of artistic presentation.
