Pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 have been taking part in a healthy eating project. Our PE and healthy lifestyle co-ordinator Kelly set a challenge for all pupils to take part in. The aim was to create a written report explaining the benefits of a healthy diet.
The response that came back was fantastic! Kelly had the tough task of choosing two top entries from each year group. These pupils were rewarded with a special healthy eating cooking session one morning.
We were joined by Jessica, an expert in creating a healthy diet. The menu included breakfast muffins, and tasty wholemeal pizza slices. Toppings were used to create a happy face for our pizzas.
It was great to see the support from the older pupils to the younger children during this session. Many different skills were practised. These included chopping and grating the ingredients. Jessica questioned each cook about healthy food ideas in their cooking.
A regular healthy eating after school club has now been established by Kelly. Pupils throughout the school will continue to learn about a healthy lifestyle and the food we eat.
