A fantastic Year 4 ukulele concert was performed at our school ahead of the Easter break. This was an opportunity to showcase the hard work that has taken place throughout the term. Our superb ukulele teacher Joe visits Year 4 once a week.
Joe has worked with the pupils to help them feel comfortable playing the ukulele. It is the perfect string instrument for primary school children to learn. Year 4 have learnt some simple chords and how to keep the rhythm whilst playing.
The end result was an amazing end of term concert. Nicole’s Year 4 class played a Beatles’ song and Everything Awesome. Sophie’s class took to the stage to perform Bare Necessities and Hallelujah.
The final performance came from the Michael Faraday Ukulele Club. Pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 meet every lunchtime to advance their skills further. Joe explained how they have been working hard on improving some funky strums.
We are happy to share some videos from the ukulele concert.
