Year 1 have been displaying their amazing Easter bonnets. The children have been busy designing and making these in the run up to Easter. We have used this in class as a starting to point to hold a discussion about what we did over the holidays.
The children are looking forward to the grand Year 1 Easter Bonnet Parade in front of our parents. We will be making the short walk to Burgess Park to hold our celebrations. Each class member will get the chance to model their bonnets and explain some of the decorations. Some practice parades have already taken place.
Elsewhere in Year 1 and our new topic is toys. This will involve the children comparing old toys with their own toys that they play with at home.
Some of the adults have kindly brought in their old toys. We have been looking at the materials that these are made out of, and how they differ to the toys that we play with today.
Our maths work has been looking at number names. The children have been learning how we form numbers and place values.
