Year 4 have been looking at instructional text. This refers to a sequence of instructions that helps us to achieve an end result.
The children started by looking at how to make a jam sandwich. We saw how although it may seem a simple process, the correct order of instructions needs to be followed.
This then led the Year 4 pupils creating their own set of instructions. They were given a free choice about what they wanted to achieve. It was wonderful to see so many different ideas coming back. Some of the ideas included how to make a paper aeroplane, how to braid your hair, and how to go to a posh restaurant!
The next stage is for our instructional text to be put to the test. Friends will work together to try and complete some of these tasks. You can listen to some of these ideas being explored in the recording below.
