Maths and measurement has been keeping both Year 3 classes busy during the summer term. The pupils have been carrying out investigations that help them to decide the best unit of measurement for a task.
We started our work by making a prediction. Different parts of our body were listed. The children had to predict which parts were the longest. An example might be: is our foot longer than our forearm?
Pupils worked in pairs to answer these questions. Careful measuring took place. Results were recorded in both mm and cm. The work concluded with some statements made about the different lengths of our body parts.
