The Nursery children have been learning some baking skills as we prepared a tasty apple and pear pie dish. We have been singing the nursery rhyme Sing a Song a Sixpence. We thought that apples and pears would be far tastier than a blackbird!
Class teachers Catherine and Deanna helped groups of children with their food preparation. We talked through each stage about what needed to be done. This helped to extend the vocabulary of the children.
Chopping skills were also used. We had some basic maths learning as well with instructions to halve the apples or pears. The end result was a tasty fruit pie to share with our friends.
We are all looking forward to our Nursery trip after the half term break. Both classes will be visiting the V&A Museum. The children will be taking part in a maths shape workshop.
