Year 4 are finishing their Ancient Egypt topic with some stunning artwork. The pupils are working on creating a 3D sculpture of an Egyptian Pharaohs’ mask.
Our work started by creating a paper mache mould around a balloon. Once this had hardened we sliced the shape in half to represent a face. This was then mounted on a sheet of card. Facials details were sculptured with extra paper mache.
The next stage was to design the elaborate mask for our Pharaohs. Each group of pupils was asked to come up with their own choice of colours and designs.
This is a delicate piece of artwork that requires great patience. Class teacher Badgie has been very impressed with the teamwork that has been on show from the pupils.
