Both year 6 classes recently took part in the Southwark School Junior Citizenship scheme. This is a project that helps to prepare the pupils for their transition to secondary school.
The students took part in a series of workshops put on by different agencies. These included Transport for London, Trading Standards and the London Fire Service. Each pupil had a worksheet to complete. Some very high scores were achieved.
We are also able to find out about how we can stay clear of knife crime. The Year 6 pupils also benefited from a hands on anti-cyber bulling workshop.
The main theme for the day was to be respectful whilst we are out in our community and at secondary school. You can listen to the thoughts of one young student in the recording below.
