Year 5 have been following up their passion for the Commonwealth Games with some practical news reporting. The pupils returned after the Easter break saying that they were inspired by the Games. The dramatic last minute win from the England women’s netball team was particularly inspiring.
This led the students to research a little more about the Commonwealth Games. We have been learning about the Commonwealth and what it represents in modern society.
Each class member has produced a newspaper report on the amazing England netball victory. We watched a short video of the highlights from the match. Our reports were structured with headlines, photos and photo captions.
