Settling Into the Reception Routine

Our new Reception children have been making friends with other members of the class who have moved up from the Michael Faraday Nursery. The first few weeks of the term have been spent understanding the Reception routine.

All children are now familiar with their class carpet space. We have organised the class members into different colour-coded groups. Each of these has the responsibility for keeping a certain area of our classroom tidy.

Class teachers Emily and Ayshah have been helping the children to improve their listening skills. It is is important for everyone to be able to follow instructions so that we can work together well.

We have been enjoying our early music lessons. These take place each week. The children have also started to read Hanzel and Gretyl as part of our fairytale topic. We had great fun baking our own gingerbread houses!
