The Nursery children have been continuing with their traditional tales topic. We have been having plenty of fun reading about the Gingerbread Man. We have been singing the song about the Gingerbread Man and adding in some actions.
The children also took part in a cooking session where we baked some tasty gingerbread men. The first task was to wash our hands and put on our best chef uniforms.
The Nursery children then worked in small teams to measure our the right amount for each ingredient. We used our counting skills to make sure the right amount was used for each item.
Our gingerbread men were then made from the mixture and baked in the oven. The final task was to add some smarties for the button decorations.
Elsewhere in the Nursery and the children have been investigating different parts of our body by counting. An outline of a body was given to each class member. We placed counters on the outline to show the correct number of eyes, arms, hands, legs and feet.
Finally the Nursery children celebrated National Poetry Day by singing some of our favourite poems and rhymes. The poem Don’t Put Mustard in the Custard by Michael Rosen is a class favourite.
