Health Updates: Online Health Checks ands EPIPENS

Online Health Check

We know that health conditions can impact on school attendance and attainment and our School Nursing Service would like to ensure children are supported to achieve optimum health.

Our School Nurse has let us know that their partner agency The Children and Young People’s Health Partnership who support children with four common conditions (eczema, epilepsy, asthma and constipation) have a service that families can access.

Parents and carers of children with one of these conditions can now complete a Health Check online if your child is aged 0-15 years by clicking over here.

Completing the Health Check takes about 5 minutes. It will ask you about your child’s condition and their general wellbeing.

Afterwards, you will receive your child’s Summary of Results and a Health Support Pack. This pack contains top tips on how you can support your child to manage their condition better, and community resources you may find useful. Your child’s summary will also be added to their health record, to support your child’s health team to better understand your child.

The information you provide will not be used for any other purposes without your consent.

EPIPENS Shortage, 2018

Regarding the recent shortage of EPIPENS for children at risk of severe allergic reaction / anaphylaxis the DfE expects the shortage to continue for the rest of 2018.

GPs are issuing parents/guardians concerned with a letter with important information. If you have not received this please contact the school’s SENCo Jacqui who will be able to help.
