The Nursery children are very excited about meeting our new class friends in January. We are looking forward to welcoming sixteen new children to the Michael Faraday Nursery.
The first few weeks will be spent helping the new starters to feel comfortable in their surroundings. This will involve learning about the rules and routine of the Nursery.
The elder children will be asked to play a major role. Class teachers Catherine and Deanna have spoken to the children about how they can make their new friends feel welcome in our Nursery space.
The early activities for the new term will help with this settling in process. We will be playing listening games and reading a selection of nursery rhymes.
Meanwhile the final few weeks of the autumn term have been spent celebrating birthdays. The children have been thinking about why we all have a special day to celebrate.
This has led to a more general understanding of why some people celebrate Christmas. The children have been creating party hats and birthday cards.
