The Year 1 children are continuing with their weekly yoga sessions with our specialist teacher Serena. Each week new positions and techniques are introduced to help build up our strength and sense of balance.
Each yoga session usually starts with the Welcome song. The children are handed out their own mini-yoga mats. Some gentle warm up stretches follow.
A recent session involved the children forming different shapes to represent growth. We started off as a small seed growing in the ground. Slowly this developed into a large tree. Our final yoga position represented some birds sitting at the top of the tree.
Our weekly yoga sessions help the children to feel comfortable with their bodies. Plus they are great fun as you can see from the photo gallery below.
