We would like to remind parents and carers that our girls only after school football and multi-Sport club continues each Wednesday at Michael Faraday School.
This FA Wildcats Football / Multi-Sport sessions provide girls between 5 to 11 years of age with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.
Early sessions have helped the players with their passing and ball trapping skills. The girls have also been coached to work together well as a team.
One of the very young players said:
“I enjoy the game where we are passing the ball to score a goal. I feel excited when I score a goal.”
Another player added:
“When I sit with other people in class I sometimes get distracted. But when I play football I feel happy and I can focus.”
Club sessions will continue to run through to the summer holidays on a weekly basis. Each session costs £3.
The initiative follows the launch of The FA’s Game-plan for Growth, which outlined the target of doubling girls’ participation in the sport by 2020. You can find out more details over here.
