The Nursery children recently had a great time on our trip to Godstone Farm. This was an opportunity to see up close some of the animals that we have been learning about back in class.
This was a hands on session with plenty of interaction with the animals. The children were invited to help feed the chickens and the pigs. The star of the trip was the two month old Shetland pony!
We also got to enjoy a ride around the farm in a trailer on the back of a tractor. We would like to thank the parents who kindly gave up their time to come along and enjoy the farm trip with the children.
Some speech and language work has taken place back at Michael Faraday following the farm trip. The class members have used photos from the trip to describe what is taking place and the animals they enjoyed seeing.
This helps to support the continued phonics work in the Nursery. The children are currently learning the sounds made by F, B, H and ur when placed together. Short words have been formed using magnetic letters on the class board.
Finally we are pleased to report that the transition to Reception for some of the Nursery children is underway. Pupils that will be making the move in September have started to spend some time with their new teachers in the Reception learning space.
