Both Year 5 classes are continuing with their regular treble recorder classes. Each week our recorder teacher Danny helps the pupils to be able to play what can be a tricky instrument to master.
Each session usually starts with a warm up song. One of the Year 5 favourites involves a class member hiding a key which another friend has to find. Guidance is given by the other class members as they change the pitch and volume when the key is close to being found.
The pupils are building up their repertoire of songs. All pupils now feel confident to play Yellow Bird. A brief sing through with some actions reminded everyone of the words and different note changes.
It was then time to play Yellow Bird on the treble recorders. Leaders volunteered to help guide other class friends through different segments. We were also joined by a couple of the pupils who have progressed to the tenor recorders.
Year 5 are looking forward to showcasing their recorder skills at end of term concert taking place on 8th July.
