Year 2 are learning about different animal habitats as part of our geography learning. We have been looking at why certain animals prefer to live in a particular place.
This knowledge has been used to help create some colourful art paintings. A recent session started by watching a short presentation about animals and where they live. Class teacher Polly asked the pupils to explain why some homes are better than others for animals.
It was then time to be creative with our knowledge. Pictures of different animal groups were left on each classroom table. The children were asked to choose an animal and then paint the ideal environment.
Our paintings included habitats such as the sea, the jungle, forests and meadows. The class members were asked which animals might like to live in their chosen setting.
