Both Year 4 classes recently welcomed author Faustin Charles to our school. Faustin has written many wonderful books such as The Selfish Crocodile. His Trinidad background was also a good opportunity to explore some ideas associated with Black History Month.
Faustin entertained the children by reading from some of his stories. He put on a captivating performance with plenty of actions and questions for the class members.
It was then time for the Year 4 pupils to put their own questions to Faustin about his career and background. We heard some top tips on how to make it as a successful author, as well as some book recommendations.
The session finished with a traditional Trinidad game being played. This involved some singing, imagination and a dash to try and find a free seat to sit on! We would like to thank Faustin for taking the time to entertain the pupils with his stories.
