The Year 5 pupils have stepped up to learn the treble recorder. This can be quite a technical instrument to play. Music teacher Danni has helped the class members to make the adjustments after playing the descant recorder in Year 3.
We are also learning how to read music notes. Plenty of fun and games have helped with this task!
One activity involves three class members each being given a card showing a different musical note. They shuffle around, leaving a different sequence each time. Our friends are then asked to read the music and play the notes in sequence.
Some signing games have also been played. Danni is helping Year 5 to be able to keep rhythm and sing a song at the same time.
A recent recorder session finished with a couple of brave Year 5 soloists showcasing their musical skills.
