Year 3 are transferring that maths knowledge to the school gym! We have learnt about symmetry as part of our maths work. This information was then used to create some symmetrical shapes using our bodies as part of our PE learning.
Three different types of jumps were used to help create the shapes. Year 3 were introduced to the tuck, pike and straddle jump movements.
Some benches and safety mats were set up around the gym. The pupils worked in pairs to try and create symmetrical body positions that incorporated the three jumping styles.
Each group was asked to give a short demonstration. Our friends gave some friendly guidance on the accuracy of the symmetry.
