The Michael Faraday School Council is up and running for another year. Each class from Year 2 upwards has two representatives. We meet with Headteacher Karen to raise any points on behalf of our friends.
Each Councillor is encouraged to attend the meetings with some ideas that their friends have put forward. These are then discussed by the Councillors and considered by the school Management Team.
Feedback is then given back to the rest of the class. True democracy in action!
Past policy has included activities for children in the playground during break times, the school menu and discussion on school uniform.
The School Council is a great way for our children to develop their debating skills. Some of the Councillors can push a hard bargain!
