Celebrations in the Michael Faraday Reception

The Reception children are learning about celebrations. We are thinking about why certain occasions are important to celebrate. The children have also looked at how different groups like to celebrate.

Centrepiece to our topic was the baking of a tasty vanilla cake! Each class member had a role to play throughout the preparation.

The children also enjoyed a recent percussion workshop. This involved recycled materials being used to help create the instruments.

Finally we are learning about healthy and unhealthy foods as part of our introduction to science. The Reception children were asked to draw a selection of healthy foods on their paper plate.
