Year 1 Make Junk Percussion for Parents’ Assembly

Both Year 1 classes enjoyed their recent junk percussion workshop. This fitted in with our class recycling topic.

The children were shown how we can use everyday materials to create some instruments to play. Large planting pots were popular as the percussion drums!

It was then time for the Year 1 class members to create their own instruments. Dried pasta, rice and lentils were placed inside cardboard packaging and plastic bottles.

The pupils are looking forward to our class assembly before the end of the term. We will be playing our new percussion instruments for the parents and carers to hear.
