Year 6 are busy across the curriculum as we approach the Christmas break. Our weekly drumming workshops ahead of the Royal Festival Hall performance in January are continuing.
We recently welcomed some pupils into our school from the nearby St Joseph’s School. We are playing alongside our new friends at the Percussion Festival. This was also a good chance to socialise ahead of Secondary School transition later in the year.
Elsewhere in Year 6 and the students enjoyed a trip to the V&A Museum. We took part in an Islamic art workshop. The pupils used their maths skills to explore the idea of symmetry within art.
Our English learning in Year 6 is currently based around the book Goodnight Mister Tom. We are also in full rehearsal mode for the Michael Faraday Winter Concert. Year 6 will perform the song Winter Nights.
Finally we have some fantastic artwork to share! Each pupil has designed their own Twelve Days of Christmas card. Our ideas are based around the traditional song. We have created our own ideas to replace the usual Christmas countdown.
