Year 1 London Landmarks Walk

Year 1 are continuing with our London topic. This led us out on a recent trip to look at some of the most famous landmarks in our city.

The children were able to see at first hand sites such as Big Ben, the Shard, the London Eye, the Gherkin and London Bridge.

We were also very kindly invited inside Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The children loved looking around and seeing what a spectacular building it is.

This learning has been followed up in the classroom with some written work alongside some artwork. The children have drawn pictures of our favourite landmarks. Speech bubbles have been added to describe what they can see.

The main learning focus here is contractions. Year are learning how to use the word it’s correctly.

And example is: It’s Big Ben.
