PE lessons in Year 4 are helping the pupils to improve their agility, multi skills, quick movements and overall control.
An introduction to this topic involved the class members using a tennis all and keeping close control with their feet. The challenge was to move the ball around a cone with their feet without making contact with the cone.
This activity was timed for 30 seconds. We repeated this and tried to improve the number of times we could move around the cone.
More cones were added as confidence levels grew. The class members were asked to assess how they could improve their technique. One interesting thought was less speed leads to more control.
Being agile and having control are key skills that we can use across different sports. Future lessons will help the pupils to see how these techniques can help them succeed in other areas.
