Auditions were recently held around the school ahead of the Michael Faraday Winter Concert. The Covid pandemic has meant that things will be a little different this year.
Our winter celebration will be staged online so that all parents and carers are able to enjoy the occasion. We have also had to consider how to manage the pupils when they are performing together.
It has not been possible to mix class members from different bubbles to form the Michael Faraday Choir. Instead a selection of pupils from the same bubble auditioned to form a mini-choir.
The first rehearsal for our new singing group went exceptionally well. One of the songs that the children will perform is the Lights Will Lead me Home.
This involves different vocal parts and some tricky pitch changes. Choir leader Kate helped the children to think about their breathing and how this can be used to improve our singing techniques.
The first rehearsal saw some very confident singing performances. The next few weeks will be spent piecing together the different parts for the song.
