Letter to Families, 11th January 2021

11th January 2021

Dear Families

Since I last wrote to you, covid rates have continued to rise at an alarming rate; our mayor Sadiq Khan has declared a major incident as ‘the spread of covid is out of control in London’. This unfortunately means that we must remain closed to the majority of our pupils and school will be closed until at least half term.

We are concerned that the number of requests for places has increased significantly this time in spite of the fact that rates of the virus are so much higher now. Please only ask for a place if you have no other option for childcare; if numbers continue to rise we will have to prioritise those of you with no–one at home to look after your child.

Of course we understand this situation is far from ideal and it can be very difficult to manage work and childcare but home is still the safest place for everyone. Government guidance states that parents and carers should keep their children at home if they can.

The government is not providing vouchers for those of you who are eligible for a benefits related Free School Meal so we are giving a weekly food hamper available every Wednesday from 13th January. You will receive a text when you can come in to collect.

On a positive note we have had fantastic engagement and feedback from our remote learning via google classroom. The children and staff are really enjoying their morning get togethers on google meet and it’s lovely to see the work the children are sending in – well done everyone!!
Take care
