The Year 3 children are working on a design and technology project to create a healthy sandwich. We started off this work by thinking about the equipment and ingredients that we might need. A picture of our early sandwich design was drawn.
The next stage was to decide upon the filling. There was a choice of cheese, jam, tuna or chicken.
It was then time to make our sandwiches. The pupils worked independently. They were able to demonstrate spreading and cutting skills.
Our final sandwich designs were placed inside a special sandwich box that we had also made. We cut the bread so that it fitted in the boxes perfectly.
The final part of this exercise was to evaluate our sandwich making skills. The Year 3 pupils were asked to comment on what they had learnt, if they were pleased with that final design, and what they might change if they were to repeat this exercise.
