Year 2 are looking back on their memories as part of a summer term art project. We are interested in five different areas of our life: family, place, food, friends and school.
We held a class conversation to generate some ideas around these topics. Each class member was asked to choose one particularly strong memory that relates to each category.
It was then time to be creative. We drew five pictures to represent each memory. These were drawn on different sized pieces of paper. A written exercise followed with a couple of sentences composed to describe what is taking place in the picture.
Our friends had a gallery visit. This is where we showed other people in the class our artwork and we had an opportunity to talk about it.
The final part of this work involved tying up the artwork together in a bundle. This can now be kept as a powerful art memory project.
