We are proud to announce that the Michael Faraday mixed football team have been crowned league champions! Our team of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils won the Southwark Mini Tuesday Football League.
This was an incredibly close competition. We finished joint top along with our friends from St Josephs Borough. Michael Faraday had a superior goal difference and so won the competition.
In total we played five matches, won four and lost one. The winning team members will be presented with a trophy and individual medals at a special Achievement Assembly.
This is the third trophy in four years that our football teams have won. Our boys and girls team have previously both won their leagues. It is great that we now have the full compliment with the mixed team.
We would like to thank our Head Coach Nick for the incredible amount of hard work he puts into coaching our football teams. He volunteers his time after school each week, as well as being responsible for the pupils on the afternoon of each game.
The next challenge for our sports stars is rugby. Work will start after the half term break on coaching a rugby team ahead of games against other local schools.
